Teacher.

Senior lecturer (Dr.)
Faculty of Music · Department of Performance and Music Pedagogy
Since 2024, Alexandru Anastasiu has held a tenured post as senior lecturer (Dr.) at Transilvania University of Brașov, teaching vibraphone and percussion. He previously (2021–2024) worked with the university as an adjunct professor.
The Brașov faculty post is part of a wider 2024 realignment: in the same year he won his tenured seat at Transilvania University, Anastasiu moved from the Romanian National Radio Orchestra (ONR — twenty-one years, 2003–2024) to the Brașov Philharmonic, as a member of the percussion / timpani section. Faculty post, stage and — through Power Vibes — ensemble, all under one geographic roof.

Over a decade of masterclasses.
Residential percussion courses · co-led with international guests
At the ICon Arts Academy, Anastasiu has been a permanent mentor for more than a decade, since 2012. The XXIII edition (2025, 3–11 August, Sibiu) was co-led with Kuniko Kato (Japan); the 2026 edition moves to Brașov (1–9 August), with 7 places.
That same XXIII edition brought a percussion recital at the Moșna Evangelical Church (5 August 2025) — an academy signature: students play beside their mentor in a heritage venue, before a local audience, from a programme they propose and Anastasiu reviews.
Publicul este măsura noastră — pentru el cântăm.
Power Vibes
Power Vibes is Anastasiu's ensemble of students — a stage on which young students and collaborators become concert partners rather than listeners.
It has taken two forms: Power Vibes Trio (2016, the album Azul) and Power Vibes Ensemble (from 2020), with a changing line-up of students and collaborators. Recent appearances: 9 January 2025, Sala Patria Brașov — Chick Corea Tribute; 19 July 2025, Piața Sf. Ioan Brașov — open-air recital; 3 August 2025, Feldioara Citadel — Musica Barcensis.
Variable line-up · students and collaborators, since 2020.

Autumne Vibes.
A residential festival devoted to the vibraphone, founded by Alexandru Anastasiu in 2018, at the foot of the Retezat Mountains. Intensive courses and a closing concert by mentors and participants, in a retreat format — the vision he first set out at the International Vibraphone Festival (2012, Sala Radio), moved into a more intimate natural setting.
The first edition ran in October 2018, the second in September 2019; it has returned every year since, through to 2025.
